Top Cotswold Venues for a marquee wedding

As you probably know by now, my favourite weddings to photograph are marquee weddings - tipis, yurts, marquee's, I love them all. The relaxed atmosphere they create, the creativity they inspire, the blank canvas for the couple to design exactly as they wish, the lack of strict rules and regulations and of course they are all outdoors which is my favourite place to be. It is not difficult to find a marquee company - some of my favourites include papakata tipis, wedding yurts uk, west country marquees to name but a few. The difficulty comes in finding somewhere to put it. If you don't have a large garden or a friendly local farmer it can be really tricky to find somewhere to host your dream marquee wedding, so I thought I'd list for you some of beautiful wedding venues around the Cotswolds where you can have a marquee, or tipi, or yurt or whichever you require, in the grounds to design and style as you like. Here goes:

- Twyning Park

This is a brand new wedding venue that just opened this year. It is a stunning family home who have opened themselves up to host a limited number of weddings each year. The beauty of this venue is that you can have your ceremony in their beautiful long room, move through to the elegant drawing for drinks before flowing through to the gardens which can host your marquee. They also have a number of locations in their grounds where you can have your marquee - the front lawn, the meadow, down by the river. You also get this venue from Friday through to Sunday which I think is a huge bonus if you choose to have a marquee wedding, to ensure you have plenty of time to set everything up as you wish and you can also then choose to have a rehearsal dinner and day after brunch if you so choose.

- Days Cottage Cider Orchard

A new favourite of mine after photographing an epic wedding here this summer. This venue is perfect for the more bohemian and rustic style wedding. Set in a stunning apple orchard, Cheltenham Yurts house one of their yurts there over the summer which is available for you to hire for your wedding. The yurt is stunning - long in style with beautiful craftsmanship, the grounds are beautiful with hundreds of apple trees, local cider on tap and homegrown vegetables. A wonderful venue for a really laid back and relaxed wedding.

- The Perch Inn, Oxford

The joy of this venue is that the marquee is here already and absolutely beautifully styled. It is on the banks of the river in Oxford and in the garden of The Perch Inn pub in Oxford which is a sublime pub. The food is amazing, the staff are really wonderful and you get to have all the joy of a laid back marquee wedding without having to actually source a marquee or toilets or generators etc yourself - what more could you want!

- Dryhill

Another beautiful new Cotswolds wedding venue. This country house is hosting marquee weddings run by Golden Pineapple hospitality. A beautifully classic Cotswold house and estate, this is another location where you can have the venue for the whole weekend to ensure you really make the most of your wedding weekend. It has the most incredible views over the Cotswolds and sstunning grounds for you to host your wedding.
