How to Style a Luxury Marquee Wedding
You only need to spend five minutes with me to realise that I love a luxury marquee wedding. As a Worcestershire wedding photographer, I’ve been fortunate to capture many marquee celebrations and stylings, grand or intimate, bohemian or whimsical. Today, I’m sharing my insider secrets to help you style your own luxury marquee wedding day.
Think big
You’ve got a huge neutral canvas to style, so get creative. Keep things minimalist chic by adorning the structural rafters with gauzy drapes and bunting. Add a bohemian vibe with suspended greenery planks above each trestle table. Introduce an abundance of romance with chandeliers trailing with blooms. You can create almost any theme for your luxury marquee wedding.
Design a focal point
This could be a statement installation, like an aisle of fairy-tale blossom trees. It could be a beautifully scented wall of peonies. Or, it could be a macrame tassel masterpiece for the ultimate festival-inspired backdrop, complete with dip-dyed feathers and pampas grass. The secret is to decorate one area dramatically, rather than spread your styling too thinly. A more-is-more approach will help you create the feel of a luxury marquee wedding.
Create zones
A conventional wedding venue, whether a barn or a country manor, tends to come with various spaces to use, from a bar to a dance floor. You get to create all of these for your luxury marquee wedding and add you own unique stamp.Think sumptuous scatter cushions on a chaise long or two, clustered around a coffee table beneath a chandelier for your chill-out zone. For a quirkier style, try an open-sided stretch tent. These become a photographer’s dream at sunset, when the light emanating from inside casts the dreamiest romantic glow.If you’re getting married in the cooler months, look out for a garden pavilion.
